📖Definition: The risk that an asset cannot be sold quickly without significantly affecting its price (i.e. that market depth is insufficient)
📊Why it matters: In volatile or stressed markets, liquidity risk can lead to sharp losses—being unable to exit a position when needed can magnify downside
💡Example: Suppose you own a thinly traded stock. If a negative news event hits, you may try to sell, but there are few buyers. You end up accepting much lower prices than expected—this gap is driven by liquidity risk
